Please note that Chetwynde School is currently in the process of transferring to the Co-op Academies Trust, with completion expected in early 2027.
Ready for the start of the 2027-2028 academic year (September 2027), all pupils will be provided with a new school uniform.
Current Chetwynde school uniform should be worn until then, with the following exception:
- Pupils joining the school are not expected to buy a new blazer.
- Any current pupils outgrowing their blazer are not expected to replace it.
Ties and items requiring the Chetwynde logo are available from Identity in Barrow-in-Furness – other items can be bought from high-street retailers or supermarkets

- Royal blue cardigan (Primary girls only) – instead of jumper, not as well as
- Grey skirt or trousers
- Blue and white summer dress (Primary girls only – optional)

- Navy blue PE polo shirt with logo (Primary and Senior only)

A range of pre-loved Chetwynde uniform is available at Re:Love – the St Mary’s Hospice Shop in Barrow town centre.
All Senior pupils need a pencil case that includes:
- Pen
- Pencil
- Felt pens or pencils
- Highlighters
- Small roll of sellotape
- Glue stick
- Ruler
- Protractor
- Pair of compasses
- Scientific calculator (we recommend – Casio FX-83 series or FX 85 series calculator)
- Mini-white board & board marker (Year Seven will be given their first one – lost boards will need to be replaced)
- A small notebook that fits in a blazer pocket (for recording passwords and other notes)
- A pair of earbud headphones that can be stored in a blazer pocket for use in ICT
- A personal reading book for Morning Read, either from home or the school library.
